Sound Situation School of Music Welcomes New Teachers

The Hill Country Sound Situation is pleased to announce the addition of pianist Nancy Samuelson and flautist Teresa Sandragorsian to the collective group of nine music instructors teaching at the school.

Nancy received her Bachelor of Music degree from Sam Houston State University in piano performance, voice, and French horn. She also holds a Master of Arts degree including piano performance, music theory, and choral conducting. Nancy has continued her education, performance, and active memberships in local, State, and national level music associations. She remains current in the latest instructional strategies including the Robert Pace Comprehensive Musicianship training and Yamaha Music Education System (early childhood training course). Nancy is also an active member in the San Antonio Music Teacher’s Association, Texas Music Teacher’s Association and the Music Teacher’s National Association.

Flautist Teresa Karine Sandragorsian is an undergraduate student at Texas State University under the tutelage of Dr. Adah T. Jones. She has been principal in both the Texas State Symphony Orchestra and the Texas State Wind Symphony and has taken part in various ensembles throughout her time there including the Spectrum Winds Quintet and the Texas State Flute Choir. In 2012, Teresa was awarded the principal chair in the annual College Flute Choir Competition of the National Flute Association Convention. She has also taken masterclasses with many esteemed flutists such as Emi Ferguson, Jim Walker, Dr. Francesca Arnone, and Marianne Gedigian. Teresa will be graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Flute Performance this coming May of 2014.

Lessons for piano and flute have begun at the Hill Country Sound Situation as well as continued instruction in guitar, bass, drums, violin, cello, mandolin, voice, clarinet, sax, trumpet, trombone, baritone, french horn, theory, music composition, and sound engineering.
