Wednesday, September 25, 2013 • Posted September 27, 2013

On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, Mrs. Marilyn Beasley from the Jacob’s Well Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Wimberley, visited Blanco Elementary School to present a program on the United States Constitution. Approximately 60 fifth graders not only increased their knowledge about the American Revolution, but also learned interesting facts about our constitution. Students participated by “ringing the Liberty Bell” to begin the program, reading and witnessing the proclamation declaring September 17-23, 2013 to be Constitution Week, and reading the Preamble to the Constitution.

Next, Mrs. Beasley visited the fourth grade classrooms. These students actively listened while Mrs. Beasley read the book, Writing the U.S. Constitution by Lori Mortensen.
