Panthers Topple Deer

In an always competitive match-up, the atmosphere was intense as the Blanco Panther Volleyball team defeated the Comfort Deer, 3-2, on Friday, October 4, to take the lead in District 27-2A. Set scores were (25-16), (17-25), (25-23), (23-25) and (15-11). Reagan Rogers hit 35 kills and 23 digs to pace the Panthers. Lexee Jenkins made 40 sets and hit 5 service aces. Meaghen Seales had 41 digs, with Jamie McClinton making 6 blocks. The junior varsity fell 0-2 to the Deer and the freshmen squad won 2-0 over the Deer.

On Tuesday, October 1 , the Panthers shutout the Ingram Lady Warriors 3-0, with set scores (25-20), (25-10), and (25-17). The JV and Freshmen teams also won their matches. Reagan hit 31 kills, with Lexee making 30 assists. Meaghen made 28 digs and hit 5 service aces. Jamie hit 3 blocks, while Ashlyn Stephens added 2 blocks.

Reagan was recognized this week by the San Antonio Express News with a volleyball “Game Ball” award for her outstanding number of kills and digs in the games against Comfort and Ingram. Congratulations Reagan!

The Panthers travel to Lago VIsta on Tuesday, October 8 to take on the Lady Vikings and then meet the Johnson City Lady Eagles at the BHS gym Friday, October 11, with the Varsity playing at 4 and the Junior Varsity at 5. Come support the volleyball team!
