2nd Annual Western Showcase Set for November 1-3

Knives, tomahawks, archery, mounted action shooting, chuck wagon cook-off, entertainment, vendors and more! The 2nd Annual Blanco Western Showcase is excited to host the 12th Annual IKTHOF Knife and Tomahawk WORLD Championships at Buggy Barn Museum and Carriage Hills Ranch in beautiful Blanco, Texas on November 1, 2, 3, 2013. It’s a weekend full of fun, excitement, and education!

The 2nd Annual Blanco Western Showcase will bring the IKTHOF WORLD Championship Knife and Tomahawk throws; as well as a school/education day (Friday), a chuck wagon cook off (Saturday), Texas Rangers, bullwhips, archery and atlatl, mounted action shooting, food and booth vendors, a costume competition, buggy rides, tours of the Buggy Barn Museum, and plenty of entertainment. There is fun for the whole family!! At last year’s event, we welcomed people from 7 different countries and 27 states and we are expecting even more this year!

On Friday, November 1, 2013, we welcome schools (public, private, home, Christian) the opportunity to come and watch the day’s event at no charge. Saturday, November 2, 2013, we continue the exciting events and add a chuck wagon cook-off. You can watch them cook, purchase a meal ticket, and enjoy the authentic chuck wagon food. Sunday, November 3, 2013, the events and entertainment continue throughout the day, with the knife and tomahawk throwers competing in several different “games.”

Our entertainers this year include: K.R. Wood, also known as Camp Cookie, along with Rebecca Henricks; Jean Prescott, Mustang Mikki Daniel, Dry River Band, Lawrence Coffee, and Mark Mabrito. We also welcome back Mike “Alamo” Bainton, who is in the Guinness Book of World Records as a World and National Champion in knife and tomahawk throwing. Our master of ceremonies is none other than Jack Dagger, who is a National Knife Thrower for the years 2005, 2006, 2008, and who you may recognize from the television show “Top Shot.”

Location of the Showcase is at Buggy Barn Museum, 1915 Hwy 281 N, Blanco, TX and Carriage Hills Ranch, 125 Moore Lane, Blanco, TX. Entry to the Blanco Western Showcase is $10/day/person or $20 for the weekend/person, with children under 5 Free. There will be a discount on students, military, and seniors for $5/day.
