Uptown’s Quilt Show Another Success

Over 600 attendees visited the annual Uptown Blanco Textile Studio quilt show this past October 11 – 13. Vendors from as far away as Florida set-up goods in the Uptown Blanco Ballroom and not for profit vendors, including quilt guilds from Austin, Johnson City, and Marble Falls had raffle quilt tickets, country stores, and information tables set up in the Uptown Blanco Courtyard. The Blanco High School Art Club had homemade goats milk soaps and creams along with artwork for sale.

Quilts filled the courtroom of the Old Blanco County Courthouse. Judge’s Choice was awarded to Jan Matthews quilt which is being raffled off by the Blanco United Methodist Church. Viewer’s Choice was awarded to Everything But The Kitchen Sink by Mary Dunn.

Internationally renowned Quilter’s, Louisa Smith and Ellen Anne Eddy provided quilts for the special exhibit. Some of their quilts are on exhibit through the end of the year at the Uptown Blanco Textile Studio.

Next year’s show will be held the second weekend in October, the theme is architecture.
