“FCCLA: A World of Opportunities”
Wednesday, December 11, 2013 • Posted December 12, 2013

Blanco High School FCCLA members had the chance to explore “A World of Opportunities” at one of the Region V Fall Leadership Meetings held at Gatti-land Pizza in Round Rock, Texas. The purpose of the Fall Leadership Meeting is to educate and introduce new and returning members to the wide range of FCCLA projects which they can take back and incorporate into their school. FCCLA Region and State Officers are responsible for conducting a meeting to reach at least nine local school districts. It’s also a great way for members and advisors to network with each other while having fun. Over 300 members and advisors from 15 different school districts attended the educational workshops and break-out sessions.

Workshop sessions were built around the 2013-2014 state theme for the year “FCCLA: A World of Opportunities.” BHS members had the chance to select from the following sessions: Opportunity for Growth (Family & Consumer Science Assessments), Opportunity for Team Building, Opportunity for Creativity (Poster Building Contest), Opportunity to Shine (STAR Events), Opportunity to Run for Office, Opportunity to Stop the Violence, and Keynote Speaker.
