Taking Time for God
Wednesday, February 19, 2014 • Posted February 21, 2014

Proverbs 18:1 “1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.”

So, this verse seems to say, when someone has separated themselves from God and His wisdom, they might want something and make a wrong decision trying to get it. You might not get that out of it, but I do.

You may take time for God, but I know everyone doesn’t always do it. Sometimes I get up late, and don’t have time to. Sometimes, if we skip our prayer time in the morning, it’s easy to get out of the habit for a few days, and then we start feeling distant and weary. I love daily devotionals! Thanks to all the people who compile them!

Proverbs 3:6 “6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

I’m bringing this up again because we ought to seek God early (in the beginning of our day) so He can guide our steps.

Hebrews 12:2 “2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Isaiah 41:13 “13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”

Do you get anything out of that? I do, and just wanted to share it.

God will hold our right hand, if we would just seek Him!

Who is not looking for guidance? Who doesn’t need someone to tell them what to do or how to do it? Who is trying to figure out a major decision?

We need to take council from experts, no doubt, but God will bring them to us, when we seek Him first. He will bring the right council to us!

I know people are searching. Searching for what, they don’t know, they are just searching. Perhaps for peace? The peace the world can’t give to them.

John 20:19-21 “19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.

21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”

Matthew 1:23 “23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

Yes, God is with us, by His Spirit, within all of us who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, as our Saviour.

John 1:4-5 “4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

Don’t grow weary. Don’t give up. Most of us won’t go through what our Lord went through for us. When we are heavy with burdens, we should think of what Christ suffered for us.

Hebrews 12:3 “3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”

And we should take time to pray, adoring Jesus, seeking God’s Wisdom, like Mary, in the Scripture below.

Luke 10:41-42 “41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
