•Join Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation at their Boerne thrift store, The Squirrel's Nest, for cat adoption day on Feb 7. Stop by 515 N. Main St, just a couple blocks north of the Main Plaza Park, anytime from 9am to 2pm. You may just find your kitty soulmate!

•Second Act Troupe Comedy Production: The Second Act Troupe returns to Blanco with an all comedy production Sat, Feb 7 at 7:30pm & Sun, Feb 8 at 2.30pm at the Learning Center Theatre in the School District Offices 814 11th St. Program includes one act comedy Admit One & excerpts from comic revue Hat Tricks (featuring Blanco actress Maggie Goodman). $12 tickets Blanco Chamber office 9am-1pm, Mon- Fri, Feb 2-6 or call 512-618-3355.

•Blanco State Park - Toddler Time at the Park: A relaxed and inviting experience for parents and toddlers, ages 1-3, to enjoy nature together. Activities include walks, meeting plant and animal friends and hearing stories. Parents remain with children for entire class. Dress appropriately for outdoor activities; bring an easy way to carry your child (backpack, stroller, etc.), snack and drink. Check at Park Headquarters for directions to class location. Class is free with a daily entrance permit to the park; $4 for adults and children are free. 10-11:30am. Call 833-4333 for more info.

•Blanco State Park - Great Backyard Bird Count: Opportunity for citizens to become scientists by helping Audubon and Texas Parks and Wildlife track bird species. Every day of the GBBC there will be guided bird hikes at 8am, 10am and noon. Participants will have a chance to record their species sightings & have them entered into the Audubon database by park staff. On Feb 14, there will be classes on how to attract birds to your backyard, how to observe birds, and children's activities along with scheduled bird walks. All event activities are free with a daily entrance permit to the park; $4 for adults and children are free. Accessible for the mobility impaired 8 am-2pm. Call 833-4333 for more info.

•Hill Country CattleWomen Chapter will meet on Tues, Feb 17 at the Gillespie County Farm Bureau Bldg on Equestrian Dr in Fredericksburg. 10am social and sign-in, 10:30am meeting starts promptly. Program will be presented by an authority on"Predator Control", a subject of great interest to those farming and ranching in the Texas Hill Country. •Book and Author Luncheon: The Friends of the Bulverde/Spring Branch Library invite you to attend the 4th Annual Book and Author Luncheon at 11am on March 11 at the Spring Hill Event Center at 2455 Celebration Dr on Hwy 281 N.
