Members of the Blanco County Youth Stock Show Sale Committee met Sunday January 25th to add proceeds from the annual Wild Game Dinner fundraiser. As in past years, the Sale Committee was again able to raise all exhibitors’ totals to the average of their species, as well as ensure that Grand Champions received 2 times the average and that Reserve Grand Champions received 1.5 times the average. The add-on total was $22,995. In addition, this year each exhibitor was given $150 totaling another $26,700. There were eleven first time exhibitors that did not get a project in the sale and they will be given $250 each to encourage them to try again next year. The Sale Committee also participated in the 2009 Premium Auction Sale by contributing $21,575. In all, these additions raise the 2009 Youth Show Sale total to $348,480.00!

The 10th Annual Wild Game Dinner has been scheduled for October 3, 2009. Blanco County’s huge support of this fundraiser for the past 9 years has allowed the Sale Committee to give $317,520.46 to not only help the sale, but also to assist with Show Barn improvements, such as cementing the back of the 150 x 100’ barn and purchase all new stock show pens.
