Panther Baseball Tallies Wins, Captures JC Tournament Crown

The Panther Varsity Baseball Team started their 2014 season with a 7-1 win over St. Anthonys on Tuesday, February 18. Jake Breeding picked up win number 1 on the mound by going 4 innings. Chase Glowka and McKay Adamson each had 2 hits and 2rbi.

On Monday, February 24 Blanco defeated Harper 9-1. Grant Calzoncit for the win for the Panthers by going 3 strong innings. Colton Elrod, Glowka, and Kyle Gray all came in relief, allowing no runs on 3 hits. Logan Dodd, Gray, and Breeding each had 2 hits. Glowka knocked in 2 runs.

In the Johnson City Tournament Blanco went 3-0 to win the tournament. Against Comfort on Friday, February 28, the panthers shutout the Bobcats, 4-0. Adamson went 5 great innings, striking out 2, scattering 3 hits, and giving up no walks. Gray, Adamson, Kyle Sauceda, and Josh McCaslin all hit singles. The Panther’s next opponent on Friday was the Lampasas. Blanco beat the Badgers 10-2. Sauceda picked up the win going 3 innings and giving up only 1 hit. Dodd and Adamson each had 2 hits. Gray hit a 2-run homerun and Glowka had 2 rbi. In the Championship game on Saturday, March 1, Blanco outscored Granger 12-3. Breeding got the win on the mound. He is now 2-0 on the season. Gray, Sauceda, McCaslin, and Carson Kipp all had 2 hits. Gray, Sauceda, and McCaslin all blasted home runs. All- Tournament selections for Blanco were Gray, Adamson, Sauceda, and McCaslin.

The game schedule for Monday, March 3 was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The Panthers host the Blanco Tournament this THursday, March 6 through Saturday, march 8. Blanco plays on Friday at 10:00am vs Ingram, at 6:00pm vs TMI and 8:00pm vs Alpine. Come support the Panthers.
