Citizens of Blanco, the time is nigh to get rid of your household clutter. For those of you who live in the City, the City Yard (next to the recycling center) will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, April 7-11. All you need to do is pick up a voucher at City Hall and haul your stuff over there! This is an excellent opportunity for those who have received letters regarding cleaning up their property to get the job done! If you need help, leave your name at City Hall. Volunteer drivers with trailers will help you get rid of your stuff.
The County-wide trash-off will be held on April 26. County residents can dispose of unwanted items at the transfer station on Transfer Road (off 281 just before you reach Johnson City). Hazardous waste items will not be collected at this time.
Keep Blanco Beautiful’s annual Trash-Off and River Clean-up is set for Saturday, April 12. Volunteers meet at 9 a.m. at Bindseil Park, grab a garbage sack and gloves and head out to collect litter from our streets and public areas. If you wish to help, please call Retta Martin at 830 833 4720. If we know the number of volunteers to expect, we can be better prepared. If you cannot commit this far in advance, you will still be welcome the day of the event.
Remember, do your part every day to Keep Blanco Litter Free. Dispose of cans, cups, bottles and fast food containers properly. Police your property lines for trash that has blown in. Encourage others to be responsible citizens!
