Blanco baseball hosted their tournament on March 6-8 with the Panthers making it to the finals against the San Antonio Home School Wolverines. However, the final was rained out as a cold front roared through the Hill Country.
In route to the finals, the Panthers first victim were the Ingram Warriors. Colton Elrod got the win on the mound going 3 innings and giving up only 1 hit and 1 run. Kyle Sauceda was the big stick of the game, going 3 for 3 and scoring 3 runs. Josh McCaslin was 2 for 3. Jake Breeding tripled and had 2 rbi. Next Blanco defeated Texas Military Institute, TMI, 10-2. McKay Adamson was the winning pitcher for the Panthers. Chase Glowka was on fire, batting 3 for 3 with 4 rbi and a home run. In the semi-final game Blanco beat Alpine, 5-2. Kyle Gray went 6 innings, striking out 13 batters and scattering 2 hits. Sauceda had a 2 rbi single. McCaslin had a rbi single. Gray scored 2 runs.
On Friday, March 14, the Panthers outscored the San Antonio FEAST, 10-3. The Junior Varsity also won their game. Sauceda picked up the win going 3 innings and scattering 1 hit. Sauceda batted 2 for 4 with 2 rbi. CJ LoValvo and Jake Breeding each doubled in 2 runs.
Blanco began district play on Tuesday, March 18 after press time. On Friday, March 21 the Panthers face the Johnson City Eagles with JV beginning at 4:30 and Varsity starting at 7:00.
