Local physician to lead ‘Girl Talk’
Wednesday, February 4, 2009 • Posted February 3, 2009

Hill Country Memorial Hospital and a Fredericksburg obstetrician/ gynecologist will cosponsor the ninth annual “Girl Talk” seminar Wednesday, February 18, at Fredericksburg Elementary School Cafeteria, 1608 N. Adams Street, beginning at 6:30pm.

Mothers and daughters from around the area are invited to attend the free, interactive seminar led by health care professional Jennifer Woerner Dulaney, M.D. The seminar is designed for young women ages eight and older and their moms, or other female caregivers, as an educational session on basic female anatomy and hygiene—and to facilitate closer mother/daughter relationships.

A member of the HCMH medical staff, Dr. Dulaney received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, and she completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Discussion topics will also include hormones, the menstrual cycle and changes that come with puberty. At the end of the presentation, Dr. Dulaney will offer an open forum for questions and answers.

Last year 34 moms and 43 daughters from Fredericksburg, Stonewall, Comfort, Willow City, Kerrville, Mason, Bryan and Lamesa attended the seminar.
