Blanco Performing Arts Ends Season on High Note
Wednesday, June 11, 2014 • Posted June 12, 2014

The sold out audience was certainly “wowed” by violinist Julia Pautz’s masterful presentation of Beethoven, Brahms, Sarasate, and Gershwin at the last concert of Blanco Performing Arts fourth season on Sunday, June 1 at the Uptown Blanco Ballroom.

Austin pianist Maimy Fong was a persuasive and intuitive partner throughout the program that evoked emotions of peace, sorrow, longing, elusive love, and sheer joy.

Pautz’s powerful technique was up to the challenging “Zigeunerweisen” by Sarasate and her lush tone soared on the “Bess You Is My Woman Now” from the Gershwin/Heifetz Porgy and Bess suite. Pautz and Fong responded to the standing ovation with a heartfelt encore, Dvorak’s “Songs My Mother Taught Me”.

The 2014-15 season is already planned and season ticket orders will be available soon on www.blancoperformingarts.com
