Lavender Festival Blooms for 10th Anniversary
Wednesday, June 18, 2014 • Posted June 19, 2014

Though a blustery storm on Thursday night threatened to sweep away those set up for Friday’s opening of the 10th Annual Lavender Festival, everything was set to rights by Noon on June 12.

This year marks the first year for overflow parking at Yett Park, which was packed with visitor’s vehicles, and a free shuttle to the Festival. Cooler morning temperatures were enjoyed by all, but the Texas heat also made it’s yearly appearance in the afternoons.

Those who grabbed lunch at the festival and headed down to shady Bindseil Park were treated with great musical entertainment. Those with the dancing bug enjoyed Saturday night’s dance at Yett Park, featuring Jim Raby and the Good Whiskey Band and The Almost Patsy Cline Band.

Imagine Lavender Farms and Hill Country Lavender Farm were open to visitors and offered tours and family fun. The Speakers Pavilion in the Old Blanco County Courthouse featured lectures on Cooking, Lavender History, and How-To seminars.

The 10th Annual Lavender Festival was another great success by the Blanco Chamber of Commerce and all the volunteers that made it possible.
