Blanco Team Takes Second in Washer Tournament
Wednesday, July 9, 2014 • Posted July 11, 2014

This year’s winners of the Spangle Dangle Celebration and Washer Tournament held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 with eighteen very competitive teams from all around the Central Texas Hill Country. One team remained undefeated from the very first washer tossed to the very last.

A brilliant pairing of two outstanding players - David Perez of Lampasas, and George Comacho of Granite Shoals, never played as partners until this tournament. When Perez’s regular partner and teammate was a no show, he turned to George Comacho, a second generation champion. From the beginning, this duo controlled the day, remaining undefeated to eventually take first place.

Second place went to Julian Mancha and Luis Garcia of Blanco. Third place went to Coach Lewis Jenkins and former student, LeRoy Martinez of Johnson City.
