A Letter from your 2013-14 Blanco County Fair and Rodeo Queen
Wednesday, July 30, 2014 • Posted July 31, 2014

My name is Sarah Shumake and I am your 2013-2014 Blanco County Fair and Rodeo Queen. As the summer comes to a close it’s once again that time for girls from both the North and South end of our county who will be entering their freshmen, sophomore, or junior year of high school to sign up and participate in the annual queens contest.

For the past three years I have had the greatest opportunities: traveling all over the Texas Hill Country, meeting new people, improving my public communication skills, learning and gaining great responsibility and confidence and making life long memories.

It gave me the chance to build strong friendships with girls from Blanco that I shared my time with on the court. At the end of my high school career I will be awarded with three scholarships for completing my duties on the fair court. Representing our county was such a fulfilling and incredible experience and I encourage all of you ladies to participate this year in what has become such an important tradition in our beautiful county!

Registration for the Queens Contest is Sunday, August 10 at 1pm in the First Christian Church in Johnson City. For more info contact Myron Felps at at 830-385-2867.
