TLU student wins scholarship

SEGUIN – Feb. 4, 2009 – Texas Lutheran University student Bradley Walker received the Keith A. Russell Memorial Award for Academic Excellence on Thursday evening, Jan. 29, at a dinner on the University of Texas San Antonio campus. Walker, a junior accounting major at TLU in Seguin, is a graduate of Blanco High School and is the son of Paul and Mary Walker of Blanco.

The award is given by the San Antonio chapter of Financial Executives International to the outstanding finance or accounting student at each of six San Antonio area colleges and universities who is returning for at least one more year. The award includes a $3,000 scholarship for the following academic year.

Dr. Annette Citzler, professor of economics and business administration at Texas Lutheran University, is an academic affiliate member of the chapter. Dr. Citzler and Walker’s parents were present at the dinner that honored the scholarship recipients.
