Lady Panthers Take a Win over Mason

The Lady Panthers took to the road on a schedule change as they headed up to Mason to face the Cowgirls.

The Lady Panthers took to the court hard and fast and they out scored the Cowgirls in the first period by only three points, leaving the score 10-7 at the buzzer.

As the teams returned to the court for the second period, the Cowgirls stepped it up just a bit as they sank nine points and held the Panthers to only two points.

As the teams retired to the locker rooms the Cowgirls had the lead with a score 16-12.

Coming into the second half of the game it was hard, get down on the floor game and it continued through the final buzzer. The Panthers were out for a win over Mason which had not been done since the 2002 - 2003 season.

During the third period Mason continued to press as they had done during the first half of the game and they continued to lead with a score 22-20.

The fourth period was the period to stay for. The Panthers went along with the keep away the Cowgirls were trying to do, but due to an error on their own part, a Cowgirl missed a pass and it went out of bounds. The Panthers got the ball back.

Then the battle was on. The Panthers took the ball down the court and sank a basket, and then another and another along with several free throws. The Panthers took the victory and the district win making them 2-0 in district.
