•Lenten Lunch Schedule: Each Thursday at 11:30am during Lent, join the Blanco community for lunch at this special Lenten ecumenical experience. Devotions begin at Noon and light lunches are provided by the host church. Freewill offerings received are used by the Blanco Ministerial Fellowship and their support of persons in need. March 5 - hosted by First Baptist Church. March 12 - hosted by St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church. March 19 - hosted by Hope Lutheran Church, ELCA; to be held at the Gem of the Hills Community Center, Hwy 281 North. March 26 - hosted by Blanco United Methodist Church. April 2 - hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church

•Lenten Fish Fry dinners at St. Ferdinand's Church, Blanco: Fish dinner includes fries, cole slaw, hush puppies, pinto beans, beverage & dessert--$7. Serving in church hall opens at 5pm and "to-go" plates available. Hosted by St. Ferdinand's Men's Club.

•Book and Author Luncheon: The Friends of the Bulverde/Spring Branch Library invite you to attend the 4th Annual Book and Author Luncheon at 11am on March 11 at the Spring Hill Event Center at 2455 Celebration Dr on Hwy 281 N. The event will include fine dining with 6 notable authors presenting their latest books. San Antonio author Pam Morsi will be the mistress of ceremonies. •American Cancer Society Volunteer Training: The American Cancer Society desperately needs volunteers who are available to transport cancer patients to their appointments. Volunteers will receive brief training and are reimbursed for the miles they drive. Next training session will be held March 13 from 10am to 12:30pm at the Blanco Library. •Celebrity Dinner: Wednesday, March 25 at Rockin’ R Steakhouse from 5:00 to 9:00pm. Proceeds benefit 2009 Project Graduation.

•The Second Act Troupe returns to Blanco with an all comedy production Sat, March 28 at 7:30pm and Sun, March 29 at 2:30pm at the Learning Center Theatre in the School District Office 814 11th St. Features 10 members of the Company (including Blanco actress Maggie Goodman) performing in 4 very contrasting one act plays. $12 tickets at Blanco Chamber office, 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday, March 23 to 27, or call 512-618-3355 at any time.
