I’m a child of God, so I have bragging rights. I can brag about the Lord God, and all He’s done for me.
Have I mentioned that He healed my youngest son from a terrible vehicle accident, and helped my oldest son come out of a very bad incident in Colorado?
Did I tell you how He has healed me from hot flashes and allergies, and keeps me healthy and whole? And He keeps my husband fit and able to ride all our horses and train other people’s horses, too, and has delivered him from high blood pressure, and even gout?
Have I told you how God brought me through heartaches by healing my pains, and showing me Scriptures that healed my soul and spirit? He even uses strangers to show His love for me!
Did I tell you since I began tithing to God’s storehouse by giving our church the first fruits of my labor (10% of my income) that God has blessed me with an over abundance of all things? And that God’s Word is true and His mercy endures forever? It’s true, it’s true, it’s true!
Do you wonder sometimes why myself and others are so enthusiastic about Jesus? It’s because we’ve tried Him and He’s true! Because we’ve asked & received! He does keep His promises, but YOU have to keep His commands, and do things His way.
“17 From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” Matthew 4:17
In order to receive His blessings, first of all, you must repent (be remorseful and turn away) from all your sins and old ways of doing things, (get baptized) and start living the way Jesus told us to. It means don’t treat others the way they treat you. Instead, “12 “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12 NLT
When I gave a gift to someone who had offended me; God blessed me! “44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!” Matthew 5:44
When I turned over to Jesus all my problems, He blessed me by taking care of every single one of them.
I don’t live in a mansion (yet); my mansion is being prepared for me in heaven. My home is not brand new, but it’s paid for. I don’t have new cars, but I have one that runs, and a back-up if necessary!
I don’t own stock in companies; but God delivers on time.
Our freezer is full, and so is our pantry. My yard is not manicured, but I have flowers that the Lord grows. I have blessings others do not have; like fresh milk from our Jersey milk cow, and fresh yard eggs, too. And sometimes we don’t even have to look for them, ‘cause the chickens will lay them in my husband’s truck!
I asked God to give me Christian friends, and He did. He has not only blessed me with abundance of all things, but He has also taken away that earthly drive to have bigger and better. I don’t strive to have all that plush stuff that impresses people. Instead, I look around at others who are in debt, or who live in apartments, or who don’t even have a home with running water and a private place to use the restroom or take a bath (in safety), and I thank the Lord that it’s by His grace that I’m not them. He’s blessed me. I’m thankful. And, praise God, He blesses our children, too!
When you begin to thank Him for your life, your very breath, your family, health, ability to read this article, sight, mental faculties, home, clothes, food, job, vehicle, children, hot water, even living in America, men & women willing to fight for our freedom and liberty, even knowing our dear Lord, and for giving us Jesus, and for preserving His Word throughout all these generations, you will realize all the things you have to be grateful for. Praise Him!
Jesus said 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33
Hallelujah!
