SAN MARCOS, TX— The third annual Springs Fest at Rio Vista Park will bring together paddling enthusiasts, competitors and the City of San Marcos to celebrate the springs and paddling in the Texas Hill Country.

The whitewater rapids at Rio Vista Falls continue to be a popular hot spot for kayakers and canoeists around the country and serves as a perfect location for this high-energy, three-day water recreation festival. Springs Fest will feature canoe and kayak boating classes, canoe and kayak vacation destination presentations, polo tournament, slalom race as well as a Canoe Club Cook Off.

Canoe and kayak boating classes for all skill levels will be available along with an introduction to the Red River Racing Junior Olympic program. A full list of courses and online registration can be found at kayakinstruction.org.

Enthusiasts can also learn more about canoe and kayak vacation destination presentations for Mexico, Canada and local Texas rivers and watch boat demonstrations to gain knowledge about boating equipment as well as try before you buy.

The polo tournament returns to Rio Vista Park while the Freestyle Rodeo and Sladeo will be held on the Rio Vista Falls. The Slalom Race on Sunday will double as the Texas Junior Olympic Qualifier.
