Lady Panthers Fall to Bulldogs After Hard Battle

The Lady Panthers traveled to Brady to face the Bulldogs for the second match up of district play. In the first match between these two teams the Panthers took a victory with a 50-45 final score.

This time around the Bulldogs put up a hard fought battle.

In the first period, the Panthers trailed by four points with a score Brady 13 and Blanco 9.

In the second period, the Panthers trailed with a 12-21 score, but the Panthers made several great moves and brought the score up to only a two point difference by the half time buzzer.

Blanco who had played a hard second period need the half time to catch their breath and make some new plays before going back out on the court.

During the third period the Panthers played hard offensively and sank a total of eight points while holding Brady to only six points.

The fourth period was a nail bitter and the lead changed three times. The Bulldogs took the lead, but the Panthers soon regained it.

With only a few seconds and the time ticking away quickly, the Panthers had to foul Brady in order to get the ball back and were playing keep away to run down the clock.

A foul was made and the shooter made one out of two of her shots. Time out was called, a play was put into place by the Panthers, the ball was passed around and a shot was missed. Brady regained the ball, and once again they played keep away and the Panthers had to foul.

Both shots were made giving the Bulldogs a six point lead. The Panthers took the ball down the court.

It was passed around several times and then made its way back to Sarah Kocurek who was at the three point line. The ball went in and the buzzer went off and the final score was Blanco 41, Brady 45.

The Panthers fall to 7-2 in district and now hold second place while Mason takes first place alone.
