Seniors to Present Play on March 29

March 21, 1965

The Blanco High School Senior Class will present their annual play. “The Perfect Idiot,” in the High School Auditorium on March 29 at 7:45pm.

BHS Players

March 23, 1979

The Blanco High School Players will be performing “The Taming of the Shrew” for the Blanco High School Students on March 28, at 9:15am.

The next day, March 29, the cast will then move their set on the TSD theater stage in Austin where they will compete along with five other schools from the district. The Blanco High Players are scheduled to perform at 4:30pm.

The cast includes Chris Wordsworth, Laurie Payne, David Wagner, Michelle Tatum, Linda Hostetler, Mary Covin, Beth Berger, Lisa Lane, Wade Wagner, Bart Berry, and Marilyn

Directing the cast to a hopeful victory are Janet Mabry and Tommie Payne.

HD Club Meetings

March 21, 1965

The Ranch Hi-Way Home Demonstration Club will meet in the Grange Hall on April 4 instead of at the home of Mrs. Cage.

Birthday party held at Mill Nursing Home

March 22, 1989

The Methodist Women had the monthly birthday party at the Mill Nursing Home Thursday afternoon.

The large birthday cake by Pearl Byars and the delicious sheet cake with chocolate icing by Evelyn Hiller was served with punch by Ruby Poenisch, coffee by Pearl Byars and Charlotte Reed who assisted with the serving.

After singing happy birthday to Frieda Syring, the Birthday Girl of the Month, and presenting her card, Rev. Waldo Hiller gave a little story of the daffodil, using a personal illustration which was enjoyed by all.

Happy Birthday was sung by Grace Walker, activity director of the home.

Mr. and Mr. Norman Schneider of the New Braunfels and Mrs. Louise Chaffin of San Antonio were guests.

Bike Rodeo Planned

March 22, 1989

The Blanco Homemakers held their monthly meeting on March 14.

Topics of discussion included the Bike Rodeo, which will be held on April 8, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00pm. This event will be held at the Blanco ISD school parking lot in front of the Elementary School.

Ages K-5th grade will partake in a bike course to improve their biking skills.

A Blanco Police officer will be on hand to register bikes. Please look for more information as the date approaches.

The Blanco Homemakers offer a booklet to all new residents of Blanco. This booklet provides names of churches, businesses and other topics for interested newcomers in Blanco. The booklet is free and may be picked up from Karen Baily at Town Square Interiors.

The Blanco Homemakers welcome new members and guests. The meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Blanco Homemaking Cottage at 7:00pm. Please come and meet new friends. We would like to have you.
