April 1 and 8

•New Hope Lutheran invites you to come share in the peace of this season of reflection, Lent, every Wed evening through April 8 from 6:30 to 7:00pm. Sanctuary will be open for you to pray, meditate, or to just "be". You may come and go as you choose. At 7:00pm, you are invited to a brief worship service of Holy Communion. Feel free to "come-as-you-are", and invite your friends and neighbors. Everyone is always welcome at New Hope! Services conducted in the All-Faiths Chapel Building, located at the corner of 9th and Elm St. in Blanco.

April 2 , 2009

•Lenten Lunch: Thursdays at 11:30am during Lent. Devotions begin at Noon and light lunches are provided by the host church. Freewill offerings received are used by the Blanco Ministerial Fellowship and their support of persons in need. Hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church.

April 3-5, 2009

•Rummage Sale, St. Ferdinand's Church: 3 Days--Fri & Sat, 8:30am-4:30pm, & Sun, 8:30am-1:00pm. Household items, small appliances, toys, tools, knick-knacks, & more. 833-0531

April 4, 2009

•Kinky Friedman, humorist, singer, songwriter, novelist and politician, will appear at the Old Blanco County Courthouse at 1pm to read from his latest book, take questions from the audience, and sign books. Tickets are available at the Blanco Library and can be obtained at the door for a $10 donation. Proceeds will benefit Friends of the Blanco Library and the Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch.

•KAPS Dragon 5K: Sun, April 19 at 8am; Katherine Anne Porter School. Family-friendly run/walk. Friendly pets on leashes welcome. Check-in begins at 7:30am; run begins at 8am. Your $20 pre-registration includes race, refreshments, T-shirt, and awards from Wimberley Glassworks. Scenic run route winds through the streets of Wimberley, beginning at our campus at 515 FM2325 & along Green Acres Road to the Blanco River with a similar return route.
