This is to publicly say HAPPY BIRTHDAY (again) to ADA COOLEY! I wasn't able to get to her party on Saturday but wanted to say that I heard it was well attended and a good time was had by all. The other birthday party was for LEONA CALHOUN and a good time was had by all at that party as well - Miz Leona is a lovely age also.
March 27 was a red-letter day for birthdays - not only my mom, but Mary Ann Weaver, Charley Pemberton, Christian Saylor, and Amira Allen. I think we should start a birthday club for that day - we would be assured of at least five members!
This week's Potpourri is a week of DON'T FORGETS - Saturday is 1) The Great American Trash-off Saturday morning, 2) Kinky Friedman at the courthouse at 1:00, 3) The BVFD Fish Fry at 4:30, and 4) The dance at Twin Sisters at 9:00 with Wooden Nickel (which is the Texas Weather Band without Slim playing fiddle - the whole band is playing next weekend at Kendalia Halle).
Everybody get out and do SOMETHING!
A big thank you to June Jennings who delivered a large basket of homemade cookies to Live Oak Nursing Home on March 24th. Everyone really enjoyed those.
On March 29th, a Southern Gospel Trio came to sing from 4:00 to 5:00pm at Live Oak Nursing Home. We want to thank Fred and Pat Goff and Lee Evans for their wonderful music and humor that inspired us all. Please come again
