Build the Library Bingo Night is March 1st
Wednesday, February 13, 2008 • Posted February 12, 2008

It’s Bingo time again! Johnson City Civic Women’s Club Bingo benefit for the library is on the horizon. Please save March 1 on your calendars for this annual event that has been part of the community fabric of Johnson City for over twenty years. Every spring the JCC WC goes into high gear to round up silent auction items and to select outstanding bingo prizes to award for the bingo games that will be played.

Johnson City citizens, their families and friends will fill the First Methodist Church Activity Center at 5:45 PM for a classic spaghetti dinner complete with signature salad, garlic bread, tea, coffee, and a piece of some homemade dessert.

Once the tables are cleared, the bingo fun will begin when JCC WC’s famous mistress of ceremonies and infamous bingo caller, Ingrid Moursund, will launch into an entertaining evening of fun. Everyone wins at bingo by watching Ingrid in action on this special night.

Another highlight of the night is the fancy cake auction. Cake coalitions are forming throughout the community in order to bid on these elegant creations. I hear that the Aggies (former students of Texas A and M University) and the Teasips (former students of The University of Texas at Austin) are lining up for a cake tussle of their own as well, but there will be more news about that in a later column.

Are you new to the JC area? Do you want to see your new community in action? This is one event you do not want to miss. You can buy dinner tickets for $7 each from any JCC WC member or from the friendly folks at our JC Library. The sale of bingo cards is a separate fee the night of the event. Remember, the number of dinner tickets is limited by space, so buy your tickets soon.
