Jesus said in the book of John 7:34 - “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
Revelations 21:6-7 - “6He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.”
Isn’t it something that Jesus taught us how to trick the devil! That’s essentially what asserting LOVE is, to a person who is full of anger or hatred, or both. A soft spoken word defuses anger Proverbs 15:1; give gifts to and pray for your enemies Matthew 5:44. Bless your enemies and come to terms with your accusers quickly! He says to turn the other cheek. He teaches us to be humble but to wield His Word and to do and speak good things, so good things will come back to us Galatians 6:7.
Isn’t it something that He teaches as His command, something we all want and that if we treat others in and with love, it will come back to us - not only because God will reward us for obedience but also because it’s His spiritual law that we reap what we sow, so we MUST do unto others (first) what we want done to us, or we won’t receive it.
Jesus taught us to be humble servants! He washed the disciples’ feet. Check out Matthew 23:12.
He taught us to put others before ourselves, that the last will be first, and the first will be last. Read Matthew Chapter 20 - The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
He said He desires mercy- go learn it, and we will receive it IF WE ARE merciful. Matthew 9:13
He taught us obedience - He obeyed God and did all God told Him to do, and said that He did nothing without God.
He taught us that we must forgive others, or God won’t forgive us. Mt. 6:15
He said If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 1 John 4:20
He taught us compassion for the poor and lame, that what we do to others we are actually doing to HIM.
He taught us to speak His Word out loud to tempting thoughts - that God’s Word prevails - never ends or changes, sears the heart and discerns thoughts, and angels hearken to it.
He gave us the Holy Spirit to teach us and comfort us and told us also that if we are mourning now, we will be comforted, and I believe we receive comfort NOW on earth.
He said the meek will inherit the earth, and those of us who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be satisfied.
He said out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks and the pure of heart will see God!
He tells us to seek and pursue peace and we shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9
He says we will receive the Kingdom of Heaven if people hate us and say bad things of us because we love Him and profess His name! He says be glad! Great is our reward! Matthew 5:12
He taught us if we seek God and the Kingdom of Heaven above all else, God will provide all we need.
He also taught us in Luke 14:12-14, that we should not invite the rich for dinner, (because they can pay us back by having us over) but to invite the people who can not pay us back, so God can repay us! That’s where our abundance comes from.
He teaches us not to cast our pearls on pigs, not to give of our blessings to unbelievers, for they will trample what we give them, discount it, and even talk bad about us, as well.
We can believe in Jesus as our risen Savior, and study God’s Word all day long, but when push comes to shove, we have to obey (live out) His commands with each other. I believe most of all, Jesus taught us obedience through His examples of obedience to God, even to His death, to fulfill all prophecy.
