Texas Lavender Association Members Meet

Johnson City, Texas. On April 18, Texas Lavender Association (TLA) members from throughout Texas held their annual meeting at LBJ National Park’s Johnson Settlement in Johnson City.

Todd Swift, Blanco County Ag-Life Extension Agent, and Fred Van Aken, TLA member from Blanco, were speakers. Significant items of business included the annual election of officers. Elected as 2009 Officers were President Chelita Riley from Johnson City, Vice President Cliff Hand from Royce City and Secretary/Treasurer Cathy Slaughter from Georgetown. TLA members discussed future sponsorship of a Lavender Conference as well as an immediate goal of developing a website and marketing material to further promote the growing Texas lavender industry.
