Do you understand how much God cares for? Do you comprehend the depths of His love for you? Most people don’t. In fact, most Christians don’t. You would expect the unsaved world not to understand God’s abundant love; but sadly, most of God’s own children don’t have a clue about how much God loves them, either. But we need to know. Paul prayed that we would know (Eph 3:17-19). We will have fear, which leads to torment; until we understand God’s love for us (1Jn 4:18). It is a lack of understanding God’s love, that leads to God’s children actually blaming Him for every terrible thing that happens. These things should not be.

When you get into The Word of God, and start to see for yourself how great God’s love is; When you see how much Jesus has done for you; it will compel you to give up everything, just to have it. In Philippians chapter 3, Paul gives us a glimpse of this. You see, Paul was a great religious man; a Pharisee. He had very high social standing among the Jews. He was a Roman citizen; He knew his lineage; He learned under the great Pharisee Gamiliel (Acts 5:34, 22:3). He was so zealous for his religion, he persecuted Christians (until he became one). Yet, he counted everything he had, and everything he was, as nothing; just to know Jesus. He counted all of his standing and credentials as dung, just to gain Jesus!

This should be our heart attitude, as well. Are you willing to give up everything, just to know Jesus? Don’t answer hastily; think about it. In case your not sure, let me help you out. A thorough study of Isaiah chapter 53 will show you God’s love like almost nothing else. If you ever question God’s love for you, just read through this chapter slowly; several times. Make it personal; because salvation is personal. God’s love is personal. Let’s take a look.

Isa 52:14, 53-many were astounded at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”

Don’t ever question God’s love for you. Know The Word; know God’s love. Have you ever wondered why Jesus is the only way to The Father (Jn 14:6)? You’ve just found out. Well, I’m out of space. Until next time, rejoice in The Lord!
