Blanco County: We Need Your Support!
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 • Posted April 28, 2009

On Saturday, May 2 at 6:45am, two buses of wounded active duty soldiers will be traveling from Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio up through Hwy 281 through Blanco to meet up with their families in Marble Falls for a day of rest, relaxation, fun, and games. The American Legion Memorial Highway Post 352 and Blanco Chamber of Commerce have been asked to place flags out on Hwy 281 through downtown to show our support for these brave soldiers. The American Legion will provide a Color Guard in front of the Old Blanco County Courthouse at 6:45am.

We are asking the patriotic citizens of Blanco County and surrounding areas to please join us at 6:30am in front of the Blanco Courthouse on Hwy 281 and show our support as they travel through Blanco to their destination. The Blanco Police Department will provide a police escort through Blanco. We know it is early, but please come and show these brave troops that Blanco supports them. The American Legion Auxiliary will be providing coffee and pastries for all who participate.
