May 8 “Reach for the Future” Event to Benefit Blanco County
Wednesday, May 6, 2009 • Posted May 5, 2009

The Blanco County Economic Development Committee, appointed by Judge Bill Guthrie, announces the “Reach for the Future” fund-raising event on Friday, May 8, starting at 6:30pm at Miller Creek RV Resort. The event will help raise money to bring high-speed Internet opportunities to Blanco County, by enabling the Blanco County Economic Development Committee to hire a grant writer so that federal grants that are to be used for bringing higher technology to rural communities may be obtained. Miller Creek RV Resort owners Paul and Judy Rountree will host this worthy and entertaining event featuring music by Hal Brown and Friends.

“Judy and I are very involved with the Blanco and Johnson City communities. We’re proud to host this fund-raising event to help Blanco County grow and develop. Smart growth and innovative technology will benefit us all. As the saying goes, ‘if we build it, they will come!’” Paul said. “We hope all Blanco County residents and business owners come out to support this worthy cause of bringing high speed Internet services to Blanco County. It will be a great benefit to us all. Thanks to Judge Guthrie for being the first to make a contribution to the high speed Internet effort.”

Donations will be accepted onsite as well as at the Blanco County Economic Development account at Cattleman’s Bank in Johnson City. For more information contact Miller Creek RV Resort at 830 868-2655 or via email at info@millercreekrvresort.com.
