The Steel Magnolias Sing at First Baptist

The Steel Magnolias, a ladies singing group from San Marcos, Texas, consisting of women ages 38-91, will be presenting a fully choreographed program of gospel music at the First Baptist Church, Blanco, on Sunday night, May 17th at 6:00pm. The church is located at 1200 Fourth Street. You can reach the church office for more information at: (830) 833-4632.

This is the fourth season for The Steel Magnolias who have traveled through Texas and Louisiana, and last year helped with disaster relief from Hurricane Ike in Galveston.

The Steel Magnolias were honored as Ambassadors of Good Will by Mayor Susan Narvaiz of San Marcos for their hard work in helping the First Baptist Church of Galveston get back on their feet and singing for the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team.

The ladies presented 30 concerts last year and are the main featured group on the Grand Ole Gospel Sing. They have also performed at United We Sing, held at Texas State University, and will be singing again in 2009 for this event held in recognition of our country’s plight after 911.
