Our condolences to David Key's partner, Armando, as well as David's family and friends - David was a larger-than-life, one-of-a-kind, behind-the-scenes philanthropist for the Blanco community. He didn't want recognition for the things he did, since he had worldwide recognition for his dancing as well as his judging of international dance competitions - he just wanted to help Blanco quietly and he provided that in many ways. Most of all, however, he was a hoot and just so much fun to be around. I personally will miss him a lot - he had many more stories to tell that I didn't get to hear.
Thanks to the McLellans, Clarence Little, Phyllis Edmondson, and Charles Critchley for spending many hours cleaning up the cemetery in time for Memorial Day and to Dennis Moore for providing a permanent (figuratively) porta-potty for the cemetery. It is just one of those necessities of life!
Our former editor, Charles, and his bride-to-be showed up in Blanco for a while last Wednesday. The nuptials are fast approaching!
Don't forget that when school is out there will be lots of vacation Bible schools for the kids to attend - they could almost be done back-to-back!
Have a safe Memorial Day!
