Guitar Hero contest held at Relay for Life event
Wednesday, May 20, 2009 • Posted May 19, 2009

Code Blue and Code Blue Jr. participated in the Blanco County Relay for Life in Blanco again this year. Great fun was had by all, in spite of the weather. The Relay for Life Committee did a great job dealing with weather issues, wind issues, and electricity issues. Once everything was finally set up and the event was underway, all the hard work that went on beforehand paid off. Participants walked and ran (yes, ran!) on top of fundraising.

The North Blanco County EMS team of Code Blue and Code Blue Jr. had two booths. The adults had the food booth of tamales and cookies, while the Jr. Team held a Guitar Hero contest. The contest consisted of competing for the high score. At the end of the night, somewhere around 1:30am, we finally had a winner. Grant Eickenloff from Blanco won the event, with Hector Alvarez from Johnson City coming in second. Grant won the grand prize of a new IPOD Nano with IHome speakers. Code Blue Jr. Team Captain Emily Vasquez presented the prize that night. Congratulations, Grant. We hope to see everyone again next year.
