David’s New Blue House
Wednesday, October 17, 2007 • Posted October 16, 2007

A small, blue house behind the new Pecan Street Townhomes is getting cleaned up. Rick and Eric Debner, the father and son team who own Ram Rock Builders, a residential and commercial developer, bought the home with the adjoining property on the corner of Pecan and 9th streets. New townhomes are now nearing completion there, and the blue house has been vacant until now.

The Debners have allowed David Esparza to move into the house rent-free, in exchange for cleaning up and maintaining the yard and house. Trinity Lutheran Church is helping with the funds to turn on electricity and water, and church members are helping Esparza get the house in order. Esparza previously lived on the street and now has a job at Dairy Queen, along with a place to stay thanks to the Debners.

"I'm very glad that we're able to help," said Eric Debner. "We're planning on doing more in the community, with other projects."

Ram Rock Builders might end up tearing the house down in six months but, until then, Esparza has a place to live.

"I'm very grateful of my new home in Blanco, Texas," Esparza said, standing on the porch of the blue house. "I'm looking forward to great things for me and others here in Blanco."
