Two Blanco High School students represented Blanco High School at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Texas State University in San Marcos on June 1.

These students qualified for this event by memorizing a Class One (professional level) solo at the UIL Region contest held on February 7.

Freshman Travis Bailey performed a snare drum solo and Junior Lakeisha Lamkin performed an alto saxophone solo as both students competed for the first time at the state level.

Both received excellent scores and now have the opportunity to go back as experienced performers next year.

Congratualtions to these students on accomplishing a difficult goal.
