Stuart Weaver Interns in Office of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
Wednesday, February 27, 2008 • Posted February 26, 2008

Stuart Weaver, son of John and Mary Ann Weaver and a student at the George Washington University in Washington DC, spent the fall semester of 2007 as an intern in the office of Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. He was one of three semester-long interns who shared a variety of duties.

“Apart from the press and scheduling work, the most enjoyable part of my experience was giving regular tours of the capital building,” said Weaver. “I really liked working for Senator Hutchison. She is a highly respectable and diligent woman who is amazing at her job.” Senator Hutchison is the fourth most senior republican senator and has been representing Texas since 1993.

“The George Washington University is a great place for anyone to further any sort of political or governmental career. Personally, I plan on joining the Foreign Service and serving the US State Department abroad.”

Weaver is currently a sophomore majoring in International Affairs with a concentration in Europe and Eurasia and International Politics. “My particular area of interest is Central and Eastern Europe.”

Weaver is spending the spring semester abroad in Croatia, located in the Balkans and part of the former Yugoslavia, before returning to DC for the summer.
