Coyote Trapped

June 6, 1969

Blanco County Predatory Animal Control Trapper D.E. Fries reported to Secretary-Treasurer Harold Schroeter that he caught a coyote on the George Pearce Ranch, Friday, May 23.

This makes eleven coyote that have been caught this year.

If you wish to pay year dues and are unable to at this time, please drop a postcard to Harold Schroeter, P.O. Box 518, Blanco, Texas 78606.

BLB Recesses

June 8, 1979

The Blanco Library Board is in summer recess, with the next meeting scheduled for September 10, meeting thereafter at 2:00 p.m. at the library on the first Monday of each month.

Garden Club Meets

June 10, 1983

The members of the Yucca Club celebrated the end of their club year with a luncheon at the restaurant at Aquarena Spring, San Marcos.

Jessie Hale, Mildred Jones, and Mildred Cox were guest for the luncheon. Twelve members were present.

During the brief business session officers for the 1983-1984 year were elected: Jean Curtis was re-elected president, Catherine Lyons, Vice President, Jerry Copeland, recording secretary, Kathleen Inglish, treasurer and Son Brown, reporter-historian.

Artists to meet

June 10, 1983

The Hill Country Artists meeting on Monday, June 13, will feature a well known local artist, Clarice Stovall, demonstrating the painting of a Padre Island sunset.

Bring a palette of typical sunset colors and pre-treat the canvas with a yellow ochre wash.

The meeting will be in the parish hall of St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church in Blanco from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a break for a sack lunch.

Bible school planned

June 10, 1983

Trinity Lutheran Church will have Bible School June 13 thru June 17, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m.

Children ages 3 thru grade 7 are welcome.

Refreshments will be served.

Census Addresses

June 8, 1979

Workers for the U.S. Census Bureau will begin compiling house-by-house address lists within the next few days in Blanco County.

Census workers will be walking or driving on streets and roads in the county to prepare the address lists. They will be knocking on doors and asking householders for a correct mailing address.

Residents can identify the census employees by a red, white and blue census identification card which all will carry. Census workers also will carry an 11” by 16” books or address registers, in which the address are written.

Census Day is April 1, 1980.

Kendalia homecoming June 26

June 10, 1983

The Kendalia Community Club will host its annual Homecoming Barbecue Sunday, June 26.

Plates for adults are $3.50, children $2.50.

Also scheduled will be a drawing for prizes, other games and entertainments and a cake walk.

Blanco victorious 16-2

June 10, 1983

The Blanco Little League Orange Team opened its regular season last Thursday with a victory of the J.C. Braves by a score of 16-2.

The Orange team only picked up 8 hits, but were helped out greatly by being walked 16 times, accounting for 10 of the 16 runs.

Those collection the hits were: Michael Vause and Matt Malone, each with a single and a double. Kevin Vest collected a double, while Luke Davis added two singles and Darrell Fishbeck one single.

Luke Davis pitched a fine game. Only allowing 3 hits, walking 6 and striking out eight. Defense put on a fine showing they got out a couple of situations with bases loaded and not allowing a run.
