Ethel Cribbs Hunt, 92, known as “Honey” to all, was born April 2, 1917, in Coalgate, Oklahoma, and passed away on May 23, 2009, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Honey graduated from high school in Coalgate, Oklahoma, married her love, Bill Hunt, in 1934, and moved to Dickinson, Texas. She became an LVN, doing mostly private duty. After raising four daughters, she went to work at Dickinson High School for fifteen years and really loved her job. Welcomed in Heaven by her loving husband, Bill Hunt; parents, John and Mary Cribbs; sisters, Cora Cross and Laura Ford; brothers, Bill Cribbs, Emerson Cribbs and Joe Cribbs; and grandsons, Jason Cloteaux and Billy Waits, Jr.

She will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Judye and P.G. Stepleton of Blanco; daughters, Jane Wootton, Su Jones and Kathi Ann Hunt; and sister, Hazel Neely. Also known as “Nana” to her eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren. Friends and family were cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, June 1st at First Baptist Church in Dickinson where funeral services were held at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 2nd. Interment followed at Forest Park East followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association-Houston Chapter, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., 77030-2008.
