Blanco Lions Club to Provide Health Screening at Lavender Fest
Wednesday, June 10, 2009 • Posted June 9, 2009

The Lions Club will have a Health Screening Unit at the Lavender Festival, on Saturday only, in the Court House. It is FREE to everyone and anyone to come take advantage of. They will also be raffling two baskets filled with Lavender, Blanco, and Lions Club goodies.

The Health Screening Unit will cover visual acuity, glaucoma, blood pressure and blood sugar (diabetes), and hearing tests. Please keep in mind that this is a screening unit, not a diagnosing unit!

The Lions Club is a service organization that is highly active in the community, as well as a worldwide organization that assists in disaster relief situations.

Can collections are the main source of income for the club. They also collect eyeglasses and cell phones to recycle and donations are always welcome. The Lions Club is a nonprofit organization; what they make goes back into the community 100%.

They are always looking for new members, so please join them in helping to make our community a better place.
