February 18, 2008 – The official dedication of the Withers-Spaulding Building, Johnson City, brought together a large group of Blanco County citizens, some in 1850’s period dress.

Judge Bill Guthrie, in black top hat, dress coat, and boots, from the era, read an official proclamation opening the building to the public. Superintendent Russ Whitlock, Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, addressed the crowd and acknowledged the donations and hand crafted cabinetry built from original wood salvaged from inside the building during renovations.
