Dear Editor,

When I heard Sarah Palin announce her resignation as Governor of Alaska, I recognized the answer to my prayer for guidance. This recognition is based on the assumption that she will stay in politics at the federal level.

My hope springs from the possibility that she will ignore the pundits and run for the Presidency in 2012. In my dreams, I am her campaign manager, and this is how I would have her campaign:

1. Move the family from Alaska to Texas. Open a small office in D.C.

2. Schedule a speech tour across the U.S. at $250, 000 per speech. Give interviews to talk radio, local bloggers and only to prove friends in the press.

3. Recruit and endorse strong Conservative Congressional candidates, developing a Palin state for the national election following the model of Newt Gingrich in ‘94. In other words, set up for a third party race. When the Republicans acknowledge Palin as the leader, join forces with them.

4. Set up an immediate response network of radio, bloggers and friendly press to answer quickly, the scurrilous attacks that are bound to come.

Palin’s legal expenses for her defense and acquittal of all ethical violations amount to $500,000. Typical of the frivolous charges was one for posing for a photograph while holding a dead fish. She cannot afford to remain in office, so chalk one up for the fishy Democrats of Alaska.

We are in a dark hour of history. In our country’s darkest, a leader has always emerged to take us back to light. I believe it is Divine Providence and I believe it has happened again. God and Country.

Charley Pemberton
