I have been away - Dorothy went back to Kansas. My husband’s parents celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary - that isn’t as common today as it once was, so it was a big to-do. Over 100 people (and half of them were relatives) came to the party - and a good time was had by all! It rained too, oh, did it rain the last day we were there!!! What a treat to see really green fields. At least it reminded us of how green looks!
On the home front, we need to send thoughts out to Lonie Ethridge and Edythe Knox.
Don’t forget Charles’s wedding reception at BUMC on July 18 in the fellowship hall. And remember, A-M side dish, N-Z dessert. Jewell Scott will be on hand for the celebration, so it will be nice for everybody to get together with her. I hear she is looking forward to it. There will also be a plaque put on the flagpole at the library dedicated to Charles’s grandfather, the Judge, probably the same day.
The new librarian, Crystal, will be at the library - so stop in and meet her too while you’re there.
And a wave goodbye to Bobby and Judy Brewer, who retired from the BVFD, after about a million years of service. The fish frys won't ever be the same without them. I feel sorry for whoever has to organize the next one!
It is really too darn hot to do much of anything except read!
