Lance Gottardy and Kevin Gray were selected to play in the 26th annual All-Star Baseball Game at St. Mary's University in San Antonio. This game is sponsored by the Valley-Hi Optimist Club. This club organized this game in 1984 to give young persons the opportunity to excel along with their peers. The proceeds from this game will go to a fund to assist other young people to follow.

High School seniors from San Antonio and the surrounding area were selected to play in this game. Lance and Kevin represented Blanco well, each singled during the 9-inning game.

Other Blanco players that have participated in this game: Garrett Granberg, A.J. Mann, Juan Hernandez, Brett Connally, Pepe Mancha, Jacob Ashley, Shane Wilson, Ky McNett, Ryan Breeding, Ross McCormick and Justin Warner.

All Academic All State Baseball Team: Lance Gottardy and Austin Deshane were selected for the Academic All State Baseball Team. Both young men maintained over a 93 grade average for their high school career.
