Fire Ravages 500 Acres Near Blanco County

At approximately 2:45pm on Monday, July 13, a fire started in the Lost Springs Ranch subdivision in Hays County.

Several area fire departments were called out to help battle the blaze, along with the Texas Forest Service.

The fire, believed to be started by a nine year old boy playing with a lighter, started in the pool area of the subdivision.

Threatening 15 homes, but not touching any, the fire was brought under control after several hours and with the help of over 80 firefighters.
