Good Samaritan Holds Quarterly Meeting
Wednesday, July 15, 2009 • Posted July 14, 2009

At the quarterly meeting of the Blanco Good Samaritan Center on July 8, reports for the previous quarter and fiscal year by Lucy Uselton, Treasurer, showed that the center had provided help to more Blanco County citizens during the current terms than in 2008. Aid for special emergencies had also been increased, even allowing a small net balance to be carried to the following year.

President William Uselton appointed a nominating committee, composed of Darlene Kiernan, chairman, Ruby Barnard, Alta Foster and Peggy Wright, to seek officers and their assistants for 2010. Election will occur at the next quarterly meeting.

The Blanco Good Samaritan Center, operating totally with volunteer labor, has been helping Blanco County residents for the last two decades. Organized by members of local churches at the suggestion of several of the ministers and leaders, it continues to operate with the support of helpful community groups and individuals who contribute funds necessary for the work to continue. The next quarterly meeting will be held at the center at 7th and Pecan Streets on October 14. The public is invited.
