Several ladies have gotten together to lend support to each other in our goal of leading a healthier lifestyle, including reducing our weight, increasing our exercise and learning how to eat the proper foods to help reach this goal. We want to spread the word to other ladies in the area who desire a program like this, but don’t have the funds to join a more formal weight loss group. We will charge no fees!!! It’s free!!!

At this time, there is no leader. I’ve been a leader at two TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) chapters and a member of Weight Watchers and so have some of the other women. There is no dietician, but Connie at Gem of the Hills is giving us guidance when needed. Since the group is just forming, we haven’t gotten all of our ducks in a row yet. We will be taking turns giving programs/discussions on topics of healthful living, exercise, good foods to eat, etc. We will be weighing in and charting our weight each week, as well as charting our weekly food intake. Those who wish to, can keep track of their exercise on individual charts so progress can be followed. I’m sure as we progress and get input from others, there will be other ideas that can suit the needs of those attending.

This support group is not affiliated with a national chain, a religion, a 12-step program, etc. It’s just a group of ladies who need the support of others in order to live a more healthy lifestyle.

Come join the weight loss support group forming in Blanco. Meetings are at 11:00 a.m. every Friday at Gem of the Hills Community Center. There are no fees.

If you are looking for support, friendship, the way to a healthy lifestyle, and some fun mixed in, we are here to help.
