Panther Cheer Squads Attend Camp

The Blanco High School Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleading squads, along with the Varsity mascot, attended the Texas A&M UCA Cheerleader Camp from July 25 thru July 28. The Varsity squad, which consists of Sydni Kipp (captain), Alyssa Warner (assistant captain), Morgan Johnson, Morgan Petri, Briar Koehl, Hillary Calzoncit, Sidney Oliver, Chelsea San Miguel, Kaitlyn Walla and Presley Savarino, received one excellent and six superior evaluations for their chants, cheers and dance routines. The mascot, Alicia Immel, also received excellent and superior evaluation ribbons.

The Junior Varsity squad members, which consists of Callie Culton (captain), Paxston Koehl (assistant captain), Madelyn Cox, Shelby Staats, Leslie McClinton, Kelsey Schwind, Katy Petri and Megan Andrews, also received one excellent and six superior evaluation ribbons, along with the UCA Camp Trophy for hardest working JV squad at camp. Callie Culton and Paxston Koehl were named to the JV All-American Squad.

The cheerleaders started painting signs and began practice this past Monday, August 3. They anxiously anticipate the start of the 2009-10 seasons, full of Panther Pride and Spirit.

Come out and meet the Panther football players, cheerleaders, volleyball players, and their coaches at the annual “Meet the Panthers Night”, at 6:30pm on Monday, August 17 at the Blanco High School Gym.

The Blanco High School Cheerleaders say, “GO PANTHERS!!”
