Opal Rae Petersen

Opal Rae Petersen was born in Blanco, Texas, March 14, 1927. She passed from this life, August 13, 2009 at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg, Texas at the age of 82.

Opal is survived by 3 sons, Glenn, Darrel, Warren and their spouses, Diane, Jenny, Teresa, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Opal was a hard working, strong, independent individual. She would pursue goals with vigor and determination. During her lifetime, she owned and operated many businesses, including a laundry mat and a café in Blanco, Texas, a gas station and convenience store in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin.

In January of this year, Opal decided to come back to Blanco where she was happy to reminisce back to the days when she called Blanco home. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Maggie Johnson, 7 siblings, husband, Ernest Petersen and a grandson, Jason Petersen.

Services will be held August 15, 2009 at 2:00pm at Crofts Funeral Home and another will follow in Wisconsin at a later date.
